Kirsten Fitzgerald
Kirsten Fitzgerald has appeared at A Red Orchid in The
Sea Horse, 4 Murders, Mr. Bundy, The Killer, and
The Removalists.
Elsewhere in Chicago, she has worked at Defiant Theatre,
Remy Bumppo, Plasticene, Steppenwolf, Shattered Globe, Prop
Thtr, Circle Theatre, The Goodman, Famous Door, National
Pastime, Aardvark, and many more.
Kirsten received a Jeff Award for Best Leading Actress as
Gertrude Blum in A Red Orchid's 2006 production of The
Sea Horse. Kirsten also holds an After Dark Award for
Outstanding Performance in A
Moon for the Misbegotten at Circle Theatre, and she
was nominated for a Jeff Award for Best Supporting Actress
in Mr. Bundy at A Red
Orchid.
An MFA graduate of the University of Iowa and a BA graduate
of the University of Kansas, Kirsten has worked with the
Iowa Playwrights Festival, the Utah Shakespeare Festival,
and was featured on a season premiere episode of ER.
Kirsten teaches acting at Columbia College and at The Audition
Studio. She is also manages the Thresholds Theatre Arts
Project, a project committed to providing individuals struggling
with mental illness the opportunity to share their stories
and to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness
by educating our communities.
