Mierka Girten
Mierka is excited to be an ensemble member at A Red Orchid
Theatre. Currently, she resides in Chicago with her husband
Brando Triantafillou.
Mierka has appeared in numerous productions with A Red
Orchid Theatre, Live Bait Theater, Mary-Arrchie, The Hypocrites,
The Baum House, Cobalt Ensemble Theater, Illinois Theater
Center, Roadworks, and Porchlight Theatre Company. She has
appeared in the national tour of The Secret Garden
and has worked with both the Pamiro Opera and Cincinnati
Opera Companies.
Along with theater productions, Mierka has appeared on-camera
and behind the microphone doing voice-overs and singing
for national television and radio commercials including
Secret, Minute Maid, Captain Crunch Cereal, Gatorade, Midas,
McDonald's, Maytag, Walgreens and Walt Disney to name a
few.
With or Without Wings, Mierka's original one-woman
show that chronicles her life with Multiple Sclerosis, has
been performed at Victory Gardens Theatre and Chicago's
Gallery 37 as well as at Wright State University in Dayton,
Ohio.
Mierka is proud to be the founding member of The Mookie
Jam Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that raises
money for artists with MS. Along with other Mookie Jam members,
Mierka has made it her mission to help these artists who
find it difficult to fund their medical expenses.
