2004-2005
Season
THE FASTEST CLOCK IN THE UNIVERSE
By Phillip Ridley
Starting in October, A Red Orchid Theatre will kick off with
the Midwest premiere of The Fastest Clock In The Universe
by Phillip Ridley, author of The Pitchfork Disney and the
screenplay for the acclaimed film The Krays. It's Cougar's
birthday, and the Captain wants nothing but the best for his
beautiful friend's celebration. Directed by Dado, who also
directed A.R.O.T.'s haunting production of The Grey Zone.
GAGARIN WAY
By Gregory Burke
Scheduled for the second slot in January, we are thrilled
to present the American premiere of Gagarin Way, by Scottish
playwright Gregory Burke. A huge hit at the Edinburgh Fringe
Festival a couple of years back, Gagarin Way is a classic
kidnapping caper in which two disgruntled blue collar proles
exact revenge against an anonymous "higher-up" at
the company with the assistance of a young and witless security
guard. Directed by Karen Kessler, who directed AROT's 2003
hit, Mr. Kolpert.
4 MURDERS
by Brett Neveu
And in April, we will present the World premiere of ensemble
member Brett Neveu's 4 Murders. Follow Joel as he makes new
friends and helps them with their problems, ultimately offering
all of them a permanent solution. Directed by artistic director
Guy Van Swearingen, who last directed the cerebral puzzler,
The Physicists.
